L.A. playing 'hide and seek' at her local thrift shop
LA is very environmentally conscious. For years she has strictly bought & donated all of her clothing at thrift shops to “walk the talk” about living a green lifestyle. “I get a lot of compliments on my clothes and how I express myself – especially from those who notice I hold my head high despite my often times strenuous health issues. They ask me ‘how do you do it!?’ Other than being a firm believer in positivity and vigor, I can afford my look by thrift shopping. Even all of my jewelry comes from thrift shops or I directly support local jewelry making artists. Some people have a stigma about used clothes that prevents them from even trying a thrift lifestyle, but little do they realize that this sweater I’m wearing – it’s New York and Company bought with the tags still on it for just two bucks… Some girl probably wore it once with the tags on it & forgot to return it in time. Works for me!!”
If you are not comfortable purchasing goods from thrift shops, please consider donating goods rather than putting them in the trash. In addition to clothing, most goods can be donated. Often times donations benefit your local charities!
