A Bit of Background
A comedian, a scientist, & a brain surgeon's patient walks into a bar - it sounds like the beginning of a joke but that right there sums up Lindseyann. Let's start with the funny! Known by her fans as "L.A." Lindseyann has been doing comedy since she was a teenager. Always a curious soul, L.A. pursued science & writing. L.A. takes that same black and white world of science and history then uses it to satirize common problems such prejudice. If ever a Scientist and a Historian got together and made a baby- L.A. would be it. Well, actually... she is.
Hailing from Massachusetts and Lil ol' Rhode Island, Lindseyann is the daughter of Ann-Marie Woodside; a small town artist, chemist, & decorated microbiologist, and William Woodside; a teacher of history & an honorable police officer who was injured during his service. Both parents strived more than anything to teach Lindseyann to be a good person who was active in the community. Despite health concerns and a full time job, Ann-Marie took on the role as leader to L.A.'s Girl Scout troop- regularly taking Lindseyann and her friends to soup kitchens, nursing homes, and community betterment events. Behind closed stores made of steel with lasers, alarms, temperature, and weight gauges... William took Lindseyann to stores, farms, and restaurants teaching her how to get donations for foster children, the poor, schools, and for his brothers and sisters still living on reservations. Humility is NOT something that William is known for, however, to this day the only folks who know of his charitable works are the business owners he has partnered with, some of the charities, and the people whom Lindseyann has shared this story.
Time To Get Serious
Although L.A.'s education has been highly unconventional, L.A. uses her unique family background and natural problem solving abilities to assist the scientific community. Despite having been scouted by Johns Hopkins University after receiving a near perfect score on both the written and multiple choice questions of the state's math and science exams at just 9 years old; doctors did not take her correlations seriously until she herself started living with an invisible illness. Even then, she had an uphill battle until she found the right doctor in Southern California with a passion for helping others and a open ear to her patients. Since then, Lindseyann has partnered with geneticists, neurologists, and primary care physicians who have changed the way they diagnose people with many connective tissue disorders and they now recognize the correlation between those disorders, head trauma, flight cabin pressure, and their link with the brain disorder Chiari Malformation. Lindseyann is also in the early-to mid developing stages of a new diagnosing technique for Multiple Sclerosis (commonly referred to as "MS") in addition to a well developed diet that both decreases the demyelination process and increase myelin repair. Lindseyann is also compiling information from a two year study on the affects of the heart with different diets. Lindseyann's research and diagnosing procedures for Chiari Malformation and Connective Tissue Disorders are now being used from the Southern California up to Seattle, Washington. As more time goes by, the news is spreading to more geneticists, neurologists, and physicians; and thereby hopefully saving lives!
